Study abroad fair and personal feelings

This Tuesday there was a study abroad fair at FH-JOANNEUM in Graz. The purpose of this fair is to introduce the countries and universities which have contracts with FH to their students. So most guests were Austrians, others are the students who were responsible for their own countries and universities.

Paul and me stood (or sometimes squatted) behind the table on which there were brochures about NKFUST and Taiwan, Chinese chess, red envelopes, taiwanese 1 dollar coins, namecards of ours, and my laptop as well.

I think we really did a good job to promote Taiwan and Chinese culture, but maybe not NKFUST. I am sorry that only very few people asked us the information aobut how to study in our university. But when it came to red envelopes, almost everyone was crazy. Paul introduced the origin and story about red envelopes to "foreigners". I asked their names first, then translating them into Chinese. Besides, putting 1 NT dollar into it and making a wish on it were also interesting to them.

Totally, I wrote more than 30 red envelopes in the short 2 hours. Even though feeling tired, I was very glad and proud that we still have many friends in the world as long as we try hard. One Mexican girl came to me and asked, "Is Taiwan part of China?" "No, we are an indepent country!"... "Ok, Mexico is with you^^" Even though so many countries in the world don't admit, we believe we are, and it's enough.

Maybe we don't talk about political issues when I chat with my Chinese classmates who are also good persons. However, I want to feel confident, and I should, too.

Different cultures form different living styles and beliefs, so it's inevitable to have conficts with each other. But, always remember to feel sympathy and make sure that we really have the same feeling with others instead of still being superior when giving our sympathy. So we know who we are human beings.

If nobody can give us power, we have to acquire it by ourselves through improving how good we are. Are you ready?
